2013 has begin, and new term has started. I'm actually surprised how times goes pass so quick.
This term we are looking into 'our future', as in what kind of job would we want to get in future.
I will start off by researching 2D pre-production pipeline and both UK and Japanese companies.
Although I am still confused with what kind of job I would like to get, so I think this project will be a good opportunity to clear my mind and hopefully find out what exactly I want to be.
So far, I know that I am into 2D more than 3D. I like story boarding, character design and making animatics. I especially enjoy story boarding every time we make animations, so I will be looking into that in depth.
As for the company I have always been interested in Studio Ghibli, the great director Hayao Miyazaki makes amazing 2D based work. I will be looking into his performance, branding and the skills that Studip Ghibli would require to the new worker.
So... I hope I can achieve these tasks this week.
My name is Miho and I am a University student learning Animation.
I will be posting my works from University here, and also my own time work as well :) Enjoy :)

Second year - Hell research again
Another research of Hell here.
I wanted to add a small decoration to represent the 'hell taste' so I thought about a weapon and maybe a skeleton (bones, skull etc).
When I think about hell the first thing comes up in my head is punishment. Hell is a very dark and evil, everything is negative and my impression of hell is that people get's punishment. So I thought about researching an weapon that maybe I could model on Maya.
I searched for medieval weapons, from the research I found out that most of the Hell images has weapons that lookes like it's from medieval times.

Second year - More ideas...
I had another chat with my tutor and he gave me more advices to improve my work.
1. Since I have 2 layouts I must keep it as simple as possible.
I have chosen Heaven and Hell for my layout, and because these two locations are complicated I must keep it as simple as possible. So no complicated buildings or too much detailed layout.
2. Decorations?
I know I have mentioned above about keeping things simple, but too simple is no good! E.g. If I keep my layout of the hell too simple it will just be like a wasteland with random fire burning around, which is boring. I need to think about what I could add for the decorations to represent that 'My layout is at the Hell'. So maybe I could add a burnt tree in the background, or cave made up with skeleton... maybe too much detail, but to get more ideas I do need to do more research.
3. Colour Scheme
To represent the definite location (as in when people look at my work they will immediately think the location is set in Heaven/Hell) I need to have the colour scheme. For example, I can't have a bright blue sky with sunshine in Hell, or dark red sky with burnt ground isn't a Heaven.
These 3 points are my next task which I will be working on and hopefully I could reach my target and achieve all 3 points to improve my work.
